The United Way of Greater Victoria is welcoming its new CEO Patricia Jelinski, who will assume responsibility for funding 68 community partners who deliver 117 programs and services across the region.
Jelinski leaves a position she's held since 2005 with Edmonton-based Northlands, a non-profit organization that collaborates with business, trade, sports and entertainment industries to increase local direct spending.
“I highly value the opportunities I have had throughout my career to contribute to building a better community and I look forward to working with the team here in Victoria," said Jelinksi, whose first day was Mar. 3. "Together with the staff, volunteers, community partners, labour and committed individual and corporate donors, I am confident we can achieve our goal to create lasting change that impacts individual lives and builds a strong and caring community.”
Jelinski also led the re-branding of the B.C. Institute of Technology and strategic planning for its 50th anniversary in 2012, and has 15 years of senior executive leadership in the private, public and non-profit sectors.
