Saanich Fire douses blaze on Shelbourne

Early morning commercial fire Saturday caused more than $50,000 damage

Saanich Fire is investigating a blaze at a commercial building in the 3900 block of Shelbourne Street early Saturday morning.

Just after 2 a.m. fire crews arrived to find smoke coming from a commercial business. Crews gained access and quickly extinguished a small fire. They also had to enter adjoining businesses to ventilate smoke that permeated through the ventilation system.

Fire loss is estimated to be approximately $50,000 dollars to the main business where the fire occurred. Adjoining businesses sustained some smoke damage.

No injuries were reported and the  cause of the fire is under investigation.
