41-year-old Saanich man in hospital with life-threatening injuries after Saturday night collision on Gorge Road

A 41-year-old Saanich man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a vehicle in Victoria Saturday night.

The man was crossing the road while pushing a bicycle in the 600-block of Gorge Rd. when he was struck by a minivan just before 6 p.m., said Const. Mike Russell.

"The driver of the van remained on scene and was interviewed by officers," Russell said. "Preliminary information suggests that the victim was crossing the street when he may have dropped some items and stopped to collect them."

Witnesses to the collision are asked to call VicPD at 250-995-7654.
