A $3.1-million Victoria City Hall improvement project is proceeding.
The work includes a new elevator to improve accessibility to all floors; strengthening the second floor; and upgrading the electrical systems, fire alarm panels, sprinklers and smoke detectors.
The project follows an earlier phase of work which involved new structural steel members in the walls and roof, and steel columns to brace non-reinforced masonry in case of earthquake.
