Bruce (Beverleigh) Turner born August 2nd, 1925 in Duncan, BC, passed away in Abbotsford BC, on January 25th 2022 at 96 years of age. Bruce was predeceased by the love of his life Pearl Turner and by his beloved eldest daughter Beverley. Bruce is survived by his daughter Faye, husband Wayne, son Rick, wife Yvonne, daughter Val, daughter Maureen, husband Lyle, 12 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He was extremely proud of his family and loved them all.
Bruce was a veteran of the WW2 and made a career in the Canadian Army serving at bases in England, Whitehorse, Yukon, and Chilliwack BC. He was also a member of the United Nations Emergency Force serving in Suez. Bruce was extremely proud of his service to this country and also to all veterans and attended Remembrance Day Services right up to the end.
Bruce met his wonderful wife Pearl at Rancheria, Yukon, and after they were married, they lived on the base in Whitehorse, where Bev, Faye and Rick were born. Bruce and the family were posted in 1957 to the Chilliwack Army base after which daughters Val and Maureen were born growing up in the family home in Sardis BC. Bruce was a devout family man, and there are many great stories of their family adventures such as packing up his wife and five kids in the family car with a big tent and footlocker on the roof and their travels across the provinces to see Canada.
After his retirement, Bruce and Pearl would go on adventures to see wonderful places in BC and especially Vancouver Island that held great memories for them.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of MSA Manor for their amazing care of our dad through the last number of years.
Bruce will be greatly missed by the Turner and Inkster families.
