Force graffiti artists to clean up

Graffiti in Esquimalt

Re: Esquimalt wants faster graffiti clean-up (News, Sept. 7)

It is wrong that the onus for graffiti clean-up is always placed on the property owner.

Every hydro pole on my street, close to an elementary school, is covered in visual pollution, street signs and mail boxes are drawn on, and the new bike path along the E&N tracks is already tagged.

Let’s have more diligent arrests of the graffiti vandals responsible, and as a penalty put them to work cleaning up their “art.”

If they are minors, then send the bill to their neglectful parents.
