Re: Sirens in the night (letters July 31).
It appears that sirens of the Oak Bay Fire Department have been a bone of contention for some time. I recall, there have been other letters with the same complaint.
I have to agree with the writer about siren noise in the early hours of the morning, especially when there is not a vehicle on the streets of the municipality.
The trucks in themselves create enough noise and having three vehicles in procession each with sirens on does seem like overkill. Having said this, the fire department are not the only offenders. The ambulances are as bad.
