Wild animals need government’s protection

So Gordon Campbell has taken on the cause of the Whistler sled dogs. Who would have known he might be a dog lover?

While he deserves kudos for this one action, I wish he, or whoever steps into his premier’s shoes would enlarge the B.C. government’s umbrella of compassion to include the furry victims of trophy hunting.

The bears, wolves and other animals affected are not only valuable in themselves as individuals and as such, merit our respect and compassion, but play a vital role in the salmon ecology that benefits all British Columbians from CEOs to children at risk.

They contribute far more to the economy and our well-being alive and free, than dead.
