The U14 and U16 metro boys Victoria soccer teams from the Lower Island Soccer Association will play in the upcoming youth Coastal Cup finals in Richmond, April 30 and May 1.
Both teams were victorious in extra time on April 16. The U16 boys won in overtime while the U14 boys needed penalty kicks.
Hamish Walde and Brian Im scored during regulation play for U14 Victoria. Goalkeeper Dory Blakely stood his ground in net while Jack Hill, Walde, Connor Phillips and Dario Zanatta converted their penalty kicks for the 3-2 win.
The U16 boys outlasted North Shore on goals from Scot Jones and Georgios Ikonomou for a 2-1 win. In the finals, Victoria U14 will face Burnaby. Victoria U16 draws Coquitlam.
