Three Shamrocks players off to world championships

Three Victoria Shamrocks will miss the opening games of the WLA season to play in the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships in the Czech Republic, May 21-28.

Forward Rhys Duch, whose Washington Stealth fell within one goal of winning its second straight NLL Champions Cup on Sunday, suits up for Canada.

Duch was part of Team Canada that won silver at the 2010 world field lacrosse championships in England.

Shamrocks’ tranisition player Jeff Shattler and forward Dean Hill will play for the Iroquois Nationals.

Victoria’s Cayle Ratcliff, a member of the Nanaimo Timbermen, will play for England this week as he did for their world championship field team in 2010.
