There are currently 13,761 patients nationwide who are registered to use medical marijuana, according to Health Canada.

  • 13,761 patients in Canada are registered to use medical marijuana.
  • 15 producers are licensed to grow and sell marijuana – five in British Columbia. (1,100 firms have applied to be licensed as producers.)
  • 1,400 kilograms of medical marijuana were sold in Canada from Jan. 1 to Oct. 31, 2014.
  • The average cost of medical marijuana is $8 to $10 per gram.
