Mayfair offers a special visit with Santa for kids who might find seeing him amid the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping a bit of a challenge. The shopping centre offers a Sensitive Santa visit Dec. 16 and 17 for children with autism and other sensory needs.
Mayfair offers the visits during a quiet time before the shopping centre opens. With no line-ups, music and other distractions in the way, the children will get to spend more time with Santa who will interact with the children based on their individual needs.
It’s just one of the activities offered at Mayfair this season including roving caroling by the Linden Singers, pop-up stores (Lululemon, Seaberry Garden & Flower, Yogibo), personal shoppers, and holiday lantern and wreath making workshops. Hours are extended to 9 p.m. each night, except Sunday when closing is 7 p.m.
Mayfair also offers a professional stylist for a $20 donation to Bridges for Women; a holiday shopping spree contest to Dec. 24 (one entry per person per day); free wreath making workshops Dec. 1, 8 and 15; lantern workshops Dec. 16; and serves as a CFAX SAntas Anonymous drop off location to Dec. 13 and Victoria Shoebox Project drop off to Dec. 17.
Caroling by the Linden Singers is Thursdays Dec. 7-21 from 6 to 8 p.m.
