Dig those loose quarters out of the couch cushions. Slide those extra loonies into a jar. Wrap your toonies up.
The Peninsula News Review and community partners the Peninsula Santa’s Helpers and Panorama Recreation Centre, are teaming up once again to collect your spare change, year-long coin collections and even paper money, to raise funds to help buy gifts for children in need this holiday season.
Each year, the Coins for Kids campaign has helped the News Review and its community partners, to buy presents for between 300 and 400 children. We hope that this season will no different and, like in years past, people already have their cans, jars and bags of coins ready to drop off, helping us help others.
Watch for the Coins for Kids drop boxes at the News Review office on Second Street in Sidney, and at other locations throughout the Saanich Peninsula.
The Mary Winspear Centre, Sidney Lions Food Bank and The Kiwanis Club of Sidney will be collecting new unwrapped toys for ages six months to 16 years, as well as gift certificates and monetary donations. Gifts can be dropped off between now and December 11 at the Mary Winspear Centre, SHOAL Centre, Buddies Toys, Van Isle Marina, Coast Capital Savings and Bubba Loo Children’s Boutique.
