Grandmothers walk for grandmothers

Victoria Grandmothers for Africa will walk this weekend to raise awareness of grandmothers in Africa, caring for children orphaned by AIDS.

The Stride to Turn the Tide walk happens across Canada on Saturday (June 11). In Victoria, registration starts at 10 a.m. and the walk commences at 11 a.m., at Centennial Square. Proceeds support the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers for Grandmothers Campaign in Africa.

Victoria MP Denise Savoie will attend and the Getting Higher Choir will perform.
