The Wheelhouse Cycling Society and the City of Langford have officially launched the much-anticipated Langford Bike Fest, with support from Advanced Self Storage.
This exciting cycling event is slated to take place at the Jordie Lunn Bike Park on Oct. 21 and 22.
The festival is comprised of enduro and cyclocross cycling events, with the Live Like Jordie Enduro event scheduled for Oct. 21. On Oct. 22, riders will compete in the Broad Street Cycles Cyclocross Grand Prix.
But experienced riders aren’t the only ones enjoying the celebrations. The Cycling BC Hop on Expo for Kids invites families and children to join in on the excitement with free drop-in skills and game sessions all weekend long. Children ages three to 12 are welcome to participate in the Cycling BC Hop On bike zone, where they may acquire new skills and have fun with thrilling games. Cycling BC will provide bicycles and helmets for loan.
“On behalf of myself and Langford council, we are pleased to see the Langford Bike Fest return to the Jordie Lunn Bike Park for its second year,” said Langford Mayor Scott Goodmanson. “Events like this help highlight Langford as an exciting mountain biking and cycling destination. It also brings awareness and inspires youth to try a new activity and makes biking more accessible for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities. We look forward to the upcoming grand opening of the Jordie Lunn Clubhouse, which will complete the vision for this incredible project.”
The massive 5,000-square-foot Jordie Lunn Clubhouse, which will soon be open to homeowners and guests, is sure to add to the excitement. This multipurpose facility will enable Cycling BC and Cycling Canada to conduct a range of activities. It will also have a cafe, shared office space and a full-service bike shop service
