PHOTOS: Thousands flock to Saanich for Greek Fest

The festival will return in September

Greater Victoria was able to experience the traditions and taste of Greece during the first weekend of Greek Fest.

The 23rd annual event kicked off on Friday (Aug. 25) and wrapped up Sunday at the Greek Community Centre in Saanich but will return from Sept. 1 to 4.

The festival features Greek cuisine, free live entertainment and more.

The food includes authentic appetizers, mains, desserts, baked goods and refreshing beverages.

The Greek Heritage Project Museum was featured during the weekend and daily guided tours were available to give attendees opportunities to learn about Greece’s past and the journey of Greek people in B.C. Authentic Greek artifacts were also on display.
