Quadra Village Day features kid-friendly activities
The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast (with healthy options, too) and features, music, info booths and Wii for the kids.The ninth Quadra Village Day gets underway Saturday (May 7), with brekky served from 9:30 to 11 a.m.Music strikes up at 10 a.m., with performances by Mike Edel, Paul Black and Coco Jafro. There will also be dancing exhibitions put on by the Vic City Breakers and Friends, the UVic Cuban Salsa Club, the Chinese Seniors Dance Troup and the Sons of Norway Folk Dancers.As well as the Nintendo, kids can take part in face painting, an obstacle course a SportBall session, sack races and a bouncy castle."You don’t need to be a resident of Quadra Village to participate in Quadra Village Day," said Janis La Couvée, volunteer public relations co-ordinator for the event.Activities take place on Kings Road, between Quadra Street and Dowler Place, until 1 p.m. For more information, go to www.blanshardcc.com/qvd.ecardone@vicnews.com
