Santa will not be coming to Victoria’s BC Transit, this holiday season for his annual bus ride.

Due to existing fleet and resource challenges, BC Transit will not be taking part in some of the annual events and traditions, including the Santa Bus, as it would take the vehicle out of service.

However, BC Transit is continuing with its Stuff the Bus event.

On Dec. 2, a bus will be set up at Save-On-Foods at the Tillicum Mall from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., with volunteers collecting non-perishable food items, new, unused toys, and clothing.

All donations will benefit the Mustard Seed Food Bank and the Salvation Army, helping families who may be in need this holiday season.

As for the Santa Bus, BC Transit hopes the jolly fellow and his holiday cheer will return in 2024.
