Saanich Peninsula community groups and businesses — including the Peninsula News Review — are decorating Christmas trees this week in the annual Winspear Festival of Trees.

More than 20 trees will be decorated in a variety of ways and put on display at the Mary Winspear Centre. The decorating took place Thursday, November 30 and the display is open to the public between Friday, December 1 and January 2.

People are invited to come to the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney to take a look and to pick out their favourite tree.

The Festival of Trees is also collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys for children aged six months to 16 years for the Peninsula Santa’s Helpers program. Toys are being accepted until December 15.
