Sixteen years after his daughter’s killing, Jeff Buziak continues to hold the annual Lindsay Buziak Walk for Justice on Feb. 2, calling for justice for her death.
Real estate agent Lindsay Buziak, 24, was stabbed more than 40 times on Feb. 2, 2008, after being lured to a supposed showing in the Gordon Head area, by who police believe were people impersonating prospective buyers.
The case remains unsolved and Jeff Buziak has been openly critical of the Saanich police handling of the murder.
“I hold the walk every year to remind people that there’s an unsolved murder in Saanich of a young woman at work. I hold the walk for all women out there who are at risk,” Buziak told the Saanich News.
“Justice has to be served and it’s not. That falls square on the shoulders of Saanich police to remind them and the public that Saanich police hasn’t done their job.”

Buziak, who lives in Calgary, returns every year for the Lindsay Buziak Walk for Justice. He even considered moving back to Saanich in 2022 to run for mayor but ultimately decided not to pursue that.
Now for the 14th time, he will do the walk, which starts 10 a.m. at Saanich Municipal Hall and ends at the Legislature.
“It’s excruciating mentally because you have to relive it every year,” Buziak said. “What keeps me going is my spiritual belief. I spend a lot of time in nature. I’ve received counselling and I still work full time and I just think about my daughter, a young woman at work who got murdered senselessly.”
Black Press Media reached out to the Saanich Police for comment and were told that the Buziak homicide remains an open active investigation.
“The Saanich Police receive ongoing assistance from the RCMP and other outside agencies as needed,” stated Inspector Damian Kowalewich. “We recognize and acknowledge the emotional toll this has had on Lindsay’s family and friends and continue to pursue justice for Lindsay.”
In 2021, Saanich police assembled a new task force with assistance from the RCMP and FBI to investigate the case, which they said would make use of new DNA and genealogical technology at the time.
In early 2023, the department told the Saanich News that members of the department have rotated in and out of the investigation team and investigators were assigned to the case at that time.

Buziak said he continues to be in contact with the Saanich Police Department’s RCMP overseer. He was also on the Dr. Phil show in 2022.
And each year he walks.
“Until there are arrests made I will continue walking,” Buziak said.
“This is about you going out (on your job) and you get killed. I don’t do this for me, I don’t do this entirely for Lindsay ‘cause she’s gone and I know she’s not coming back – I’m not off my rocker. I do this for the community, I do this for all women out there, especially young women at risk.”
