A list of new and returning exhibits that will be featured at the Royal BC Museum (RBCM) this year was announced on Friday (Jan. 26).
On March 1, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition will kick off with a look at fascinating animal behaviour, spectacular species, and the breathtaking diversity of the natural world. Featuring the triumphs, challenges, and incredible beauty of a planet the soon-to-be here exhibition uses the power of photography to raise awareness around animal advocacy and environmental conservation and showcase the world’s best nature photography. This exhibition will run alongside a companion film, Blue Whales: Return of the Giants, at IMAX Victoria, which is inside the museum.
On May 10, museum visitors can discover one of the most mysterious and unique stone monuments in the world with Stonehenge. Featuring 400 plus ancient artifacts, Stonehenge will have archaeological insight, cutting-edge scientific research, and will explore the iconic world heritage site.
Shortly after the Canadian Modern exhibit will be on starting June 28. The exhibit will explore iconic modern designs crafted by Canadians whose works reflect and define the global trend. It will also highlight the experimentation, innovation, and ingenuity behind 100 culturally significant objects created in Canada, including some homegrown items from the collections of B.C.
