A Victoria resident is hoping to take a big trip to Europe after winning a $500,000 Extra prize from a Daily Grand draw.

Freddie Mabeza purchased the winning ticket at British Columbia Lottery Corporation’s playnow.com.

“I was at home on my couch watching TV, I checked on my phone and saw the amount,” said Mabeza in a news release. “At first I thought it was a glitch, but I checked my ticket and it confirmed the correct amount. I feel very at ease. I do not have any problems and I can spend a bit more freely.”

Mabeza also said his wife didn’t believe him at first, but she’s very happy about the win.
