The Victoria Royals have a new Director of Hockey Operations.

On Wednesday (April 17) the team stayed in house to fill the role by promoting Dara Festinger to the role. She has been with the team since the 2021-22 season in the role of Manager of Hockey Operations and Analysis.

“Dara is a hard worker who has shown her dedication and commitment to the organization,” said Royals general manager Jake Heisinger. “She is an important part of our management team, and we look forward to her continued contributions.”

Prior to her first full season with the team, Festinger volunteered during the shortened pandemic season as well as assisting the UBC Thunderbirds hockey team in an analytics and video role while studying at UBC. She also completed internships with the Vancouver Giants and CFL.
