Lieutenant Governor Steven L. Point was at at the B.C. Legislature to give the speech from the throne opening the new legislative session. The Lieutenant Governor was greeted by the Naden Band and honoured with a 15-gun salute from the 5th (B.C.) Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery.
