Several charges, including aggravated sexual assault, are being recommended by police against a 40-year-old man in connection with a sex assault that occurred in an Esquimalt park earlier this week.
Officers were called to Highrock Park, also known as Cairn Park, just after 8 p.m. Tuesday, where they found a woman who was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Few details have been released, but police believe the man and his victim weren't known to each other.
The man is expected to appear for a bail hearing this afternoon. Anyone with information is asked to call 250-995-7444.
