Charters Road construction will trigger traffic delays in Sooke

Repairs underway on weather-damaged roadway this week

Construction crews have begun making repairs along a Sooke road damaged due to inclement weather.

District of Sooke officials say temporary repairs are underway on Charters Road. Contractor Victoria Contracting is excavating and replacing the road base.

Single-lane alternating traffic with signage directing northbound vehicles to yield to ongoing southbound traffic will remain in place until repairs are completed.

The district has slated major road upgrades for Charters Road next year.
