Man suspected of harassment bolts

Criminal harassment charge possible after incident in Esquimalt Friday

At 10 p.m. Friday, a woman complained to police about being followed and harassed by a man in a green SUV.

When Victoria police arrived at the designated parking lot in Esquimalt, a man matching his description bolted.

"He ran through the Tim Hortons and out toward Head Street," said police spokesperson Const. Mike Russell. "Another approaching officer arrested the man without incident."

The suspect failed an alcohol-blood test and was issued a 90-day vehicle prohibition and a 30-day vehicle seizure.

Police are recommending a charge of criminal harassment against the 54-year-old Esquimalt man.
