Mounties probe death of Victoria man

Man has succumbed to his injuries after an early Saturday incident on the Songhees First Nation Reserve.

A Victoria man has succumbed to his injuries after an early Saturday incident involving a group of individuals on the Songhees First Nation Reserve.

Dead is 26-year-old Kyle Syrenne.

The West Shore RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit and the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crimes Unit is investigating the altercation, which occurred at Ned Williams Road at approximately 4:30 a.m. Saturday and was said to involve occupants from a taxicab.

Police are asking individuals from the cab to come forward to help determine the reason behind the altercation and help identify the prime suspect in the injury of the man.
