A sinkhole closed a stretch of roadway Sunday on Salt Spring Island.
The Salt Spring Fire Department responded to reports of a large sinkhole at 258 Beaver Point Rd. (near Fulford Harbour) at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Sunday (June 25).
In a post on social media, the department said at approximately 5:30 p.m. the northbound lane was impassable and crews are asking residents to avoid the area.
