Thief enters Victoria home while family sleeps: VicPD

Police appeal to public for help locating suspect from Saturday morning break-in

A Victoria family woke to a fright early Saturday morning when they discovered a would-be burglar in their home.

VicPD officers were called around 5 a.m. to the 2700-block of Scott St. – near Kings Road and Shelbourne Street – for a report of a break and enter. The home owner reported that one of the members of the family had spotted a suspect inside the house, which scared off the man.

A K9 unit was unable to locate the suspect, who is described as a Caucasian man, approximately six feet tall, wearing a hat, dark vest and blue jeans at the time.

Anyone with relevant information is asked to call VicPD's non-emergency line at 250-995-7654 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
