At approximately 7:45 a.m., officers responded to a multi-unit residential building for a report of a robbery. While on scene, officers learned the victim was assaulted with a weapon and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The man was transported to hospital.
A person believed to be the suspect in the robbery then barricaded themselves inside a suite in the building.
Traffic was disrupted on Cook Street between Bay Street and Queens Avenue. Roads reopened around 6 p.m. and building residents are allowed back into their suites.
Police say they are still looking for one or more suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
