VicPD will once again respond to public disturbance and crime reports on Twitter during Canada Day celebrations.
Anyone who wants to contact police can tweet their request by using the hastag #VicPDHelps.
Last year, police used crowd-sourced information to locate a missing 90-year-old man, identify people drinking alcohol in public and arrest a man brandishing a knife, among other success stories.
The hashtag will be monitored from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on July 1. General questions on Canada Day can be directed to @YYJCanadaDay or @VicPDCanada.
Be sure to include location information in your tweet and always call 911 for emergencies.
