Victoria police were called to Beacon Hill Park Tuesday at 6 a.m. after a man who had been stabbed was heard calling for help. Area residents called 911.

Officers arrived at the Cook Street side of the park shortly after and found a man suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

The man, who was camping in the park, told officers that he had been stabbed, but refused to provide additional information.

Officers remained on scene as they searched the area for a suspect and investigated the incident.

The Victoria Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact their non-emergency line at 250-995-7654, extension one. Or, to report anonymously, call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
