View Royal council have let it be known they oppose the idea of a Capital Regional District sewage treatment plant being built at Thetis Cove.
"We have the highest and best use for Thetis Cover planned," Coun. John Rogers said. "Talk and speculation via the press, and via whoever else, ignores a lot of really important facts in this whole process. … It would hardly be the best use of property."
Rogers said the topic of sewage treatment at Eagle Creek has come up with the CRD, but he couldn't say anything more. Council voted to send a letter to the Times Colonist denouncing the idea.
