Environment Canada is calling for a week of rain, as the wet weather began pouring down Tuesday morning in Greater Victoria.
From Dec. 11 to Monday Dec. 17, rain is expected for Victoria although it might not be constant. Thursday is expected to see periods of rain while Friday will see showers.
The temperature is rising, as Thursday, Friday and Monday see a high in the double digits. So far, Environment Canada predicts the coolest low of the week to be a low of 4 C on Tuesday evening.
A wind warning is also in effect for Greater Victoria. Southeasterly winds of 60 to 80 kilometres per hour are expected to hit most inner coastal areas, but are expected to ease this afternoon. Winds near Juan de Fuca are described as strong westerly winds potentially reaching 70 kilometres until Wednesday morning.
“Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds,” Environment Canada’s wind warning states.
