Locking your car and taking valuables with you is a good idea.
In October West Shore RCMP received 39 calls reporting thefts from vehicles.
"Criminals prey on opportunities, said Cpl. Kathy Rochlitz, West Shore RCMP.
Items stolen include wallets, cell phones, money, shoes, golf clubs and GPS devices. The break-ins were occurring in both the day and night.
