Sooke RCMP say investigators have arrested a 28-year-old woman they believe to be connected to two suspicious fires.

On Tuesday, Sooke Mounties and firefighters were called to two brush fires that they say appeared to have been deliberately set along the Galloping Goose Trail, west of Sooke River Road.

The first involved a brush fire, covering an area measuring 2.5x2.5 metres. The second fire had engulfed a tree, with flames reaching a height of 7.5 metres.
