LETTER: Drivers should roll down the windows

On yet another gorgeous sunny, breezy day on the south Island, with temperatures below 20 C, it’s dismaying to still see so many vehicles on the roads with windows all rolled up, presumably running their air conditioning.

On yet another gorgeous sunny, breezy day on the south Island, with temperatures below 20 C, it’s dismaying to still see so many vehicles on the roads with windows all rolled up, presumably running their air conditioning.

Don’t drivers know that doing so: a) uses extra gas; b) makes their engine run less efficiently; and c) spews carbon into our beautiful blue skies? Do they not want to open a window or two because it would muss up their hair? I thought Vancouver Islanders were known for caring more about the environment — and kudos to those who roll down those windows instead.
