Regarding your piece on the objections to fireworks by residents of North Park. I completely support their view eliminating the outdated tradition.
Delightful to watch, fireworks are still an environmental calamity that needs to be put to rest.
Other culminating events could easily replace this practice. Close off Cook Street and hold an evening lantern show market with music art and drama.
