Our estimable mayor and his loyal councillors have settled on rebuilding the Strauss-designed bridge that is still operating after 100 years service.
New materials, new technology and perhaps streamlined superstructure will leave Victorians with a prize that will serve even yet-unborn people their entire lives.
What a wise decision. Bravo to our elected leaders.
