Junior Shamrocks open with a win

Victoria lacrosse juniors host home opener Saturday in Colwood

Matt Hamilton scored five goals and added an assist as the Victoria Junior Shamrocks came from behind to beat the Thunder 10-6 in season-opening B.C. Lacrosse Association play on Sunday in Langley.

The home team led 3-1 after one, but the 'Rocks made it a 5-5 game after two periods. Goalie Ryley Brown shut the door on the Thunder in the third. Max Fredrickson had a goal and four assists for the winners, Ryan Lewis and Darren Bourret had a goal and three assists each and Karver Everson had two goals and an assist.

The Shamrocks play their home opener Saturday (May 3) at 5 p.m. against the Coquitlam Adanacs in the Q Centre.
