The Canadian Sport Institute is looking for Canada's next generation of Olympians.
Athletes aged of 15 to 22 years old are invited to Podium Search on Sunday, where they can test their capacity for sport performance. The testing is done at the Pacific Institute for Sports Excellence, Sunday (May 26) beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Athletes who perform well may be contacted for further assessment and an offer to enroll in one of several Talent Development Programs, including the Canadian Sport School.
Podium Search is a free, half-day talent identification camp offering athletes basic physiological and anthropometric test results to measure how they stack up against national team standards. Assessments include the vertical jump test, medicine ball throw and 30-metre sprint run among others.
Participant leave with a copy of their test scores and an understanding of what it takes to become part of Canada’s sporting elite.
