Despite splitting their two games Wednesday, Brad Jacobs' Team Canada rink remains among the leaders at the 2013 Ford World Men's Curling Championships at Victoria's Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
Jacobs scored an 8-5 win over Russia yesterday afternoon with a steal of one in the 10th end to move to 7-2 atop the round robin standings, tied with Scotland.
Scotland leapfrogged over Canada this morning and clinched a berth in the first vs. second Page playoff game with a slim 8-7 win over Sweden. The host country takes on Denmark (6-4) in the 2 p.m. draw today, while Scotland plays last-place Finland (1-8).
Tiebreaker draws are scheduled to start at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday, followed by playoff matchups at 7 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday. Semifinal matches go at 4 p.m. Saturday.
