The Victoria Flyers U14 boys went undefeated in the preliminary rounds of the Volleyball B.C. championships in Langley only to lose in a closely contested final last weekend.
The Flyers outscored Mission, West Vancouver and Kelowna by a total of 150-53 en route to a quarterfinal berth. Serving was in full gear as the Flyers easily handled the Kelowna Kings in the quarterfinal and the Surrey Eagles in the semifinal. But the Fraser Valley Blues were too tall in the final, edging their way past the Victoria squad by two points in the third set.
