Young runner excels in a number of sports, volunteers at school, too

Simon Pollock, 11, is a Grade 5 student at Sir James Douglas elementary in Fairfield and keeps himself very busy with sports and volunteer activities.

Among his athletic highlights have included winning the city elementary boys 800-metre running title in 2013 and 2014 and going undefeated in his cross-country races the past two years.

He also plays for the atom A Victoria Racquet Club hockey team and is assistant captain of his Victoria lacrosse team. Simon also plays basketball in the night league and for SJD and has run in the Victoria Youth Triathlon the past five years.

At school his favourite subjects are math and P.E. He also volunteered with the SJD Green Team, was emcee at an anti-bullying day and help set up the Spring Fair at SJD.
