Sea Cadets from Vancouver Island and Northern B.C. took part in a week of small boat sail training exercises this week at Naden at CFB Esquimalt.
The events also served to give instructors hands-on experience working with the young cadets.
The training week is a prelude to a major competition this weekend, pitting cadets from four different divisions – a Nanaimo group is representing Vancouver Island – in various areas of seamanship.
The regional inter-divisional competition goes Friday (March 23) through Monday at the Naden drill shed.
