Pedal power and kindness collide in free rides for James Bay residents on Saturday.

Residents can take the kids out for a ride, get a ride home with the groceries or just hop on for fun as the crew at Victoria Pedicab Company expresses its appreciation by offering free rides on April 20 from 1 to 5 p.m.

“The residents of James Bay have always been very kind and friendly towards us. We really appreciate that and this is just a small gesture to thank the community and perhaps give a little taste of what it is like to be one of our guests,” president Andrew Capeau said.

Boasting a fleet of more than 30 pedicabs, including those with an electrical assist, many operators live in or close to James Bay, including a solid group of veteran operators in the five- to 10-year mark.

Find the Victoria Pedicab Company parked around James Bay Square at the corner of Simcoe and Menzies.
