Election cannot come too soon

Councillors Mearns, Browne and McBride have shown themselves to be unworthy of their seats on North Saanich council

Councillors Mearns, Browne and McBride have shown themselves to be unworthy of their seats on North Saanich council. Browne and Mearns began their local political careers with threats to sue the District over the oath of office which they claimed to be gagging them.

The taxpayers are the ones who are gagging as we continue to suffer from their self-centred wasting of time and money. By walking out, these councillors have successfully delayed the development of a truly workable amenity policy for North Saanich.

North Saanich taxpayers must be assured that speculating developers pay their fair share, in today’s dollars, for any expansion of public infrastructure required for their increasing of housing density, anywhere in the District.

We require responsible councillors who will address these important issues.

An election cannot come too soon.

Patrick Godfrey, North Saanich
