Goddess Run raises $30G for charity

Run and walk event through Langford, spa activities raise valuable cash

Three local charities are saying thanks to local women, after about $30,000 was raised with the third annual Victoria Goddess Run that happened in Langford on June 1.

Five dollars from each of the 2,100 registrations was donated to either the Victoria Women’s Transition House, Victoria Sexual Assault Centre or KidSport’s Active Girls Program, with participants choosing which charity they wished to support.

“The Victoria Women’s Transition House is honoured to be a part of this event that is inspiring, engaging and fun,” said development director Tracy Lubick. “The show of support for our organization was overwhelming, and it was a joy to know that people in our community are working in partnership with us to create hopeful futures for women and children who need our services.”

The proceeds brought the total raised close to $100,000.
